Are You Rushing Through the End of the School Year?

by | Balance for Educators

As the school year begins to wind down, it’s easy to fall out of balance. There is just so much to do, manage and hold…

Grades. Events. Testing. Classroom cleanup. Parent communication. Student emotions. Your emotions.

I know that for me, and for many educators that I work with, there is often a mix of excitement, exhaustion, relief, nostalgia, and “how is it already the end of the year?”

Really, wasn’t it just September and Back-to-School night?

The final stretch can feel incredibly overwhelming. But it can also become one of the sweetest parts of the entire year if we let ourselves actually be present for it.

While yes, there are still deadlines and to-do lists… there are also these final little moments happening all around us. Sometimes we miss them because we’re mentally sprinting toward summer.

So this week, instead of asking yourself how to “get through” the end of the year, try asking:

How can I experience it more fully?

Your students will sense your energy, whether it’s urgency and survival or presence and joy. That shift in your mindset will not only support your students but it could also make a big difference in how YOU feel going into the summer vacation and the next school year.

Also, if you are realizing that balance, boundaries, nervous system support, and sustainable teaching are things you want to work on more deeply next school year, I’d love to support you.

Summer is actually the perfect time for us to work together, when there’s finally a little more space to reflect, reset, and reconnect with yourself outside the constant pace of the school year.

Hi, I’m Amy (she/her)!

I consider myself a teacher and student every single day. I empower educators with self-support tools so they can live their BEST life!

As a teacher myself, I’m especially passionate about serving educators and feel strongly that learning self-support strategies can benefit anyone at any stage of life. In mentoring educators, my goal is to cultivate a space of acceptance and comfort, offering the people I support permission to be themselves, trust themselves, and grow at their own pace.
